offers a wide variety of supplies for rug hooking such as
pure wool fabrics, both hand dyed and commercially dyed,
patterns and kits, hooks, dyes and spoons, frames, and tape as well as courses for
beginner to advanced students. We are located in Halifax,
Nova Scotia. Our products and services are featured on
this web site. Our beautiful, hand-dyed wools are sought
after by those who want to hook beautiful rugs. Our products are
available in our studio, by mail order, or when we are vendors
at hook-ins and other events.

Classes and Workshops:
We offer a variety of classes and workshops for rug hooking. Doug
is an accredited teacher of the McGown Guild who has taught in Nova Scotia, New
Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Ontario, and the US. . His work has
been showcased in the Eye See you project which travelled in the United States
for a year. His work is currently being showcased in the Tarot Card project in
the US. This is a two year tour in the US and Canada.
continues to upgrade his McGown certification by taking the teachers` workshops
in the US every year as well as teaching other McGown teachers at those
workshops. This year, he will be teaching a fine shaded pictorial of a tall ship
at sea. Doug has taught a wide variety of workshops including fine shading, Maud Lewis,
large flowers, mandalas, magical landscapes, Grenfell, orientals and dying. His students have hooked
beautiful oriental rugs, fine flower shaded rugs, leaves, and pictorials.
He recently taught Maud Lewis at a hook-in in Ottawa. More Maud
Lewis courses are on his schedule.
Classes are held most Wednesdays from September to the end of
November and from January until the end of May. If you have not been
attending these classes, please phone 902-445-4644 to ensure
availability. These are open classes where you take a beginner
course from us or you purchase a new pattern to hook or you get help
with one on which you are already working.
